The. Dress.
I really just Loved some of these designs from the Dolce & Gabbana at
So, a few weeks later, I was browsing a local fabric store. . .
I found some upholstery fabric that kinda reminded me of those styles.
Now as you can see, it wasn't exact but the same idea. . .
And it easily could become a couch cover or tablecloth.
Hmmm
But then again. . .
I bought a few yards and decided to experiment.
The pattern I chose to use. |

The Fitting |
I also used some plain fabric which seemed to go with the printed fabric.
I really wanted to go with that frayed look on the hemline.
The skirt would have more detail added after this fitting,
with appliques of the printed fabric.
I left the edges raw to fray, also.
I added tiny fraying scraps of fabric for Texture. (Before Beadwork) |
With the Beadwork completed. |
Front & Back |
Well, it isn't quite as orange-y bright and beaded as the designer outfits.
But I kinda like how it turned out.
(Other than the grumpy look on the creepy model's face. Geez! Where do they get these women?)
NEXT, I am going to try the two piece suit.
Which I think is really, really beautiful!
Slightly less orange in my fabric.
I think I will base the entire applique
on a plain fabric for more contrast.
Just love this style! |
I think this will be for the Fall Fashion Fiesta.
And I have the perfect model in mind, too. . .
That will be the "2nd Annual"of our fall Fashion Show.
Mark your calendar!
(I am thinking November 4th.)
