A Decade in Review

THE DECADE

Photo from 2012

Photo from 2019

My first blog post or story on this "blogspot" site was in July, 2010.
(That was 110 posts ago, to be exact!)
That is a crazy long time ago.

For this entire decade, we have made our home here in Puerto Peñasco.
(Wow! That seems like such a long time.)
For parts of all of those years, I have had my little studio
over there. . . just across the street.
Actually, the Grand Opening was in November 2010.

Some days, it feels like my "office"
as I hurry up to get to work on time!
But, most of the time, it has been my retreat
and a great little peaceful haven.

Looking forward to the next decade,
I hope to expand the property a bit more
as an artsy corner in Peñasco.

OF 110 POSTS IN ALMOST 10 YEARS, ONLY 3 WERE MADE IN 2019.
A SIGN OF THE TIMES, PERHAPS?
More and more, my posts are "short and sweet" photos with #hashtags!
(Yeah. I even figured those out in the last year or 2).
Looking at the few posts in 2019, I seem to be amazingly concerned with
how time is flying by...
So, here we go!
Off to the beginning of the new Roaring 2020's!
 My 2019 sentiment remains:
TIME FLIES
"She said luck is all you make it
You just reach out and take it
Now let's dance a while

She said nothing ever happens
If you don't make it happen
And if you can't laugh then smile

But after a while
You realize time flies
And the best thing that you can do
Is take whatever comes to you

'Cause time flies."

~ Lyrics Time Flies, Porcupine Tree

Fashion Frenzy

So, I was checking out some of the
Fashions going down the Runways for 2017.
Wanted to get some inspiration....
Hmmm. Who is going to be wearing these?

My Opinions:
First off the shoes are all BEYOND BAD.
The mis-matched socks, hilarious.
The girl in pink looks extremely ill.
Somewhat "home-made" quality to a couple of these, huh?
However, I do Love that the stripes are not horizontal.

My Opinions:
Again. . . The shoes. Ugh.
Somebody forgot their slip...
Somebody is wearing their pillowcase.
The stripes, hat and tennis shoes is just a Mess (and, not hot).
And, the blue and green looks like a craft project gone awry.
However, I do kinda like the big bow in front of that pink dress.

My Opinions:
The girl in blue is definitely in some witness protection program.
Another forgotten slip...
Angry girl with a bad hair day and doo-dads gone berserk.
And, another girl with the flu, perhaps?
However, I do Love the blue shoes. Super-cute.

Now, for a few that I found that I like...

My Opinions:
What's not to Love. . . black and white polka dots!
And, a funky cool big necklace.

The bohemian dress has fun colors....

The navy with stripes - Simple and elegant...and thinning, too.

And the sunny yellow one, just the bodice is spectacular.
Plus, the shoes are classics!

Ok!  I have some inspiration.
Thanks for joining me.
Now, I gotta get busy. . .

On an Autumn Afternoon

A Sunday afternoon project.
I gathered up some autumn colors. . .

Sunday project. When all else fails, be creative.
So, here goes.... what will I do with these items?
I am thinking something vintage.
Here are the pieces:  A sparkly india-style kurdi tunic.
A cut velvet scarf. A velvet textured skirt.  A bunch of fringe and beads.

And, a search for inspiration.

Here we go. . .

The first cut.

Making the sleeves
Bodice and cummerbund are complete

Cutting the skirt

Attaching the skirt

The Dress

Adding detailing at the neckline

Cutting out some extra embellishments

Ok. So let's see how it turned out.
